EMPLOYMENT

2023                    Learning & Engagement Intern, Asheville Art Museum, Asheville, NC

• Assisted instructors alongside the Youth & Family Programs Manager to conduct weekly art classes with class content containing projects involving painting, sculpture, mixed media, fiber art, and printmaking for grade levels K-12.

• Inventoried and categorized supply needs for art classes and reported needs to the School & Teachers Program Manager.

• Contributed to museum website’s “Work of the Week”, a blog that highlights different objects in the museum’s collection and expands on its significance to the region.

2022 - 2023        Museum Assistant, Reece Museum, Johnson City, TN

• Worked alongside the Exhibition Coordinator to install/deinstall exhibitions, including handling and transporting artwork and/or artifacts, corresponding with artists for drop off/pick up times, and creating programming.

• Assisted with collections management, which included proper handling and care of artifacts, designing creative solutions for rehousing artifacts in archival materials, and updating correct location and informational data in PastPerfect software. 

• Aided staff with events and receptions after hours, including receptions, artist talks, and performances. 

• Often assigned personal projects, including the printing and preparing of posters for sale as well as curating an online exhibition of artwork from the museum’s permanent collection.

• Assisted with an art camp that resulted in Reece Grove: A Mixed Media Experience exhibition. Led and guided campers to use recyclable materials to create an Appalachian forest in the gallery.

• Was primary manager regarding social media (Instagram & Facebook) and created content for accounts as often as every weekday, including visual graphics and captions for posts, stories, and reels. 

• Required regular research of artifacts beyond staff knowledge and data logged into PastPerfect, creating a weekly schedule of posts, and established the Reece’s online presence as an informed, accredited museum
